Pacific Cold Storage, a P & O
Company, contracted Clarion Construction, Inc. to provide "Turn-Key" design and
build services for their new 96,000 s.f. freezer facility in Vernon, California. The
project included demolition of two existing buildings, and the removal of a concrete
cattle yard which covered much of the 3.82 acre site. The new "tilt-up
concrete" building has a wooden truss and glu-lam beam roof structure, as well
as an impressive 34' clear height. The dock accommodates 14 trucks and each of the 3
freezer compartments are capable of +45 F to -20 F to accommodate the various food
commodities.
